Father and Daughter

In this entry there will only be two paragraph in which tells a story from two point of view that is from a father and his daughter. It is about expression of the emotion in an event of which every father and daughter relationship goes through either in the same manner or differently.




Her every wish is my command, especially when its her birthday. Her 16th birthday, the single most important birthday event in a teenager's life. My darling..........darling.........lovely but LOUD wife, Veronica had been pushing me for many weeks now to take Cryctal, our little princess to this romantic theatrical performance called "Pride and Prejudice" that she had been dying to see since she was a little baby.Even thought I rather be in my office and at my desk doing my accounts that needed to be done before end of this month, than sitting down for an hour or so and watch several people on stage making a fool of themselves. But...........in this case, I guess I can make an exception.
After all it is Crystal's sweet 16th birthday. As the curtain rises, I caught a glimpse of Crystal's face. She was glowing with excitement and satisfaction. Her eyes sparkled so bright and full of energy as she got her birthday wish. While counting the seconds until the play is over so that I could hit back to work, Crystal and I indulged ourselves to a fine dinning dinner at the Cosmic theater. Where not only do they stage the most famous plays but the best cuisine in the city as well. I just could not take my eyes off of my little princess, she looked like an angle. She melts my heart away. She is the princess in my heart and she deserve the best on her special day.




Today is my 16th birthday..........OMG......I can't believe its my sweet 16th and the most shocking thing is that my mum got my workaholic dad to take me to the premier of "Pride and Prejudice" plat at the exclusive Cosmic Theater for a birthday dinner and performance. I nearly went hysterical when she told me the news. I went up to my room, pick out my best dress and do my hair and makeup with my mum's help for my birthday gala. As I entered the entrance of the Cosmic Theater, my heart was pumping and my blood was racing to my brain. The theater was magnificent. The stage was set and perfect for the performance. I could tell that my dad was not impressed but he is trying to make the best of it. As the show begins, from the corners of my eyes I could see that my dad was watching me.........his eyes were filled with love, and he was smiling......I could tell even in the darkness of the theater hall as his eyes were doing all the smiling.
I love my birthday present so much.....the play was wonderful.....it was the best birthday present ever. It was breath taking and heart warming, I really enjoyed myself especially when I get to share a father daughter moment with my dad on my special day. And I know that my dad actually enjoyed himself as well even though he kept checking the time every now and then.

HIGH FIDELITY

A flick which opened up the world of the music industry and majorly in the rock music industry to its viewers. This comedy, drama, music, romance flick had captured my attention on how these music genre could have a major impact in an individual lifestyle including their love life. The cast of "High Fidelity" featured many renowned actors like John Cusack as Rob Gordon, the major character in the flick and supported by Iben Hjejle as Laura, Rob's love interest; Jack Black (Barry) and Todd Louiso (Dick) as Rob's record store employees. Other than that, actors such as Lisa Bonet, Joan Cusack, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Tim Robbins were also featured in this motion picture.

"High Fidelity" was based on a popular novel by Nick Hornby follows the 'mid-life' crisis of Rob, a thirty-something record-store owner who must face the undeniable facts that he's growing up. Rob has done a pretty good job of avoiding adulthood. An obsessive music fan, he runs a struggling vinyl records store with his two weired employees; the quiet, friendly Dick (Todd Louiso) and the hyper-obnoxious Barry (Jack Black). The trio trades meaningless Top 5 Lists and heckles the occasional customer while refusing to acknowledge that there might be more to life. Rob's central problem (besides his store) is that his relentless serial monogamy, moving from one girlfriend to the next while never really committing to any of them. Ironically, each time a woman breaks up with him, he's left emotionally devastated, wondering what he did wrong until the next flame heats up and the cycle repeats itself. When Laura (Iben Hjejle), his latest girlfriend, leaves him after an extended relationship, he launches a grim self-evaluation to try and realize what he's doing wrong. Though "High Fidelity" is hysterically funny, it never descends into slapstick or parody; the story remains grounded enough to let the central ideas develop beautifully and adding to that, this flick also delivers a sense of contemporary hipness, at the same time fitting squarely in the classic mold of romantic comedy film.

Jack Black (Barry) was the most radical character in this flick. He is this very hyper, crazy and it has to be said...horny bastered of all the character. But his character is the one which light up the entire movie. His funny ways and crazy point of views on life brings humor to the flick. And he loves picking up on Todd Louiso (Dick) as Dick is a self-effacing nerd. But what amazes me is that their knowledge of the music world. Its amazing how each and every one of the three memorizes information of artists, their albums, songs, and even the dates the albums were released. It comes to show how deep their knowledge are in the music industry.

This movie had me glued me to my seat and almost made me wet my pants because of the hilarious scenes played by the characters. But they were times when it had me thinking about my own personal life. This motion picture had touch several events where I myself can relate to my own life. Its plays a sentimental feel to it. It made me think of my past love life and the life I am leading now. There are times when I nearly teared up while watching the struggle that Rob had to face to find his true self......I really can relate to his character in true life.

I sometimes wonder if I have grown in to my true character in life......this flick has taught me to be aware of my life...of my true inability....my true identity....

Love My Fairy Tales

Welcome to my world of fairy tales...hahaha....just kidding. You know when you were growing up you have that favorite book that you love so much and you will always carry them around when you were a kid or even make your parents read them to you each and every time your going to bed? Fairy tales was my first encounter with the world of literature. My parents would buy me books like "the Little Mermaid", "Sleeping Beauty" and etc...etc...love them so much....the books were just simple English but hey... I was only a kid back then...I especially love the ones with pretty pictures on one side of the pages and the story on the other side. I keeps me interested in reading them...I was brought up with a good education by my parents. They will always find ways to keep my sisters and me interested in learning language either its Malay or English. I grew up in a circle of well educated people as far as I can tell. My father's friends and work colleagues always came over to our house and they would always converse in English with my father and as you might have guest it with my sisters and me.

They would always come with some gifts for us sisters. Board games, story books, candy, you name it....I especially love those old board games where there are bonus questions basically about our general knowledge on everything and anything. It kept me and my sisters on our toes of wanting to learn and knowing more about the world. From there it made me read more....the more I read the more I was satisfied I've become.

But to be honest, my early history with reading is not that much....yes , I mean.....I eventually learn how to read the newspaper and magazines that my parents read themselves but most of the time I was in front of the TV. I would watch cartoons and movies that help me a lot in brushing my communication skills. Other than that, I would watch "Sesame Street"....that was my favorite show to watch...and I still do watch the reruns now when I get the chance to. The show was fun yet educational....it not only teaches the alphabets, numbers, spelling....etc...etc...but it teaches moral values as well. I can still remember that my mum would wake us up in the morning so that we would not miss the show. In a way, I learn more about reading by watching "Sesame Street" then doing the actually reading itself. Funny right????? But that was how it all went down in my childhood years....

From there I eventually develop the passion for English and literature. I would ask my parents to buy those colorful story books so I could enjoy myself while learning....in primary schools I would enter English oriented events....either for school performance or spelling bee...but I was never good with spelling....up till now...I still suck in spelling....hahahaha....I just don't know why but I just do....strange right????? but that's the truth about little old me....

Even thought I learn more by watching TV, fairy tales is my first love when it comes to the English language....until now I do love them and never get sick or bored of it. It makes me feel like a kid again when I read them....stupid as it maybe but.....it helps calms me down when I'm stress.....just reading happy, beautiful and wonderful fairy tales....

The New Semester

My new semester started with a bang, I got to see all of my old and not so old friends again plus sharing stories about the holiday that we had experience for the past two weeks. I missed them so much, just talking to them brings smile to my face. Yesterday was my first day of the new semester and I attended both of my classes as my new goal is not to miss a single class for the whole semester. I really want do my best for this semester as my last semester CGPA was kind of a disappointment to myself as I expected more out of it. Well, at least what I can do now is improve my weakness and do the best that I can.

Something hilarious happened to me yesterday evening. After the afternoon class with Mr Jefri, we were just hanging out as we use to after each class just to discuss about the class or just making fun of each other. The thing is during that time, I had to use the ladies in the student lounge which I did. Then, the unexpected happened. My car keys fell in the toilet's water drain hole and it was really deep. Without thinking I just stick my hand in it to get back my keys cause I was afraid that the remote might get busted cause of the water. It smelled so bad but still I had to do it if not i can't get home. It was so deep that i had to stick my hand up to my shoulder to get back the keys. It was so disgusting and I hope that I will not have to do that again and with that said the moral of the story is not to put your car keys in the front pocket of your jeans while using the john.

At that moment I was the laughing stock of my friends and no one wanted to shake hands with me but it was all good. As for today, I made a fool of myself again. Instead of heading home to Nilai, I was distracted with the cars on the road and headed for Shah Alam. Just my luck again. So, I had to make a long U-turn back to Nilai and wasted about half and hour of my precious time on the highway. I don't know what got into me these few days but I hope tomorrow will be a much better then these few days.

The new semester, the new beginning of another journey of my life. It may seem corny to some but to me, my journey as a student brings so much joy and happiness to all around me. For now, I am a student of life and eager for knowledge that comes in my way. I am just hoping for the best.
